Catalogs
Catalogs differ from each other regarding their functionality and recorded publications, so you should always take care which catalog you use or even search several catalogs during your research.
The most important catalogs concerning our library, the University of Hamburg (UHH) and the Max-Planck-Institute for Meteorology (MPI M) are the following:
BIS-catalog | searches only the collection of our library |
Katalogplus | current catalog of the library system of the UHH searches all the collections of every library of the UHH |
Campus-Catalogue | old catalog of the library system of the UHH searches all the collections of every library of the UHH |
KatalogHamburg | regional catalog of the scientific libraries of Hamburg successor to Beluga |
Gemeinsamer Verbundkatalog (GVK) | supraregional catalog that you can also use to initiate an interlibrary loan, if a medium is unavailable regionally |
ediss.sub.hamburg | lists the dissertations that have been published electronically at UHH |
MPG.eBooks | lists the e-books that the MPI M or the Max-Planck-Sciety has licensed access is only possible within the IP-Range of the MPI M (e.g. at the PCs in our library) |
Karlsruher virtueller Katalog (KVK) | simultaneous search of national and international catalogs and records |
Notes on e-books
To access e-books that are licensed by the UHH you have to be connected with the campus network or log in with a valid library card. More information on this can be found on the SUB'S website.
To access e-books that the MPI M or the Max-Planck-Society has licensed you have to be within the IP-range of the MPI M (e.g. at the PCs in our library).
